About CMF

CMF Publishing, also known as CMFBooks, is a Christian, family-founded publishing house established by sisters Marilyn Stewart (Franklin) and Cheryl Johnson (Franklin)—both well-published authors and scholars—in honor of their late father, Ray Franklin.

From an early age, Ray Franklin encouraged his daughters to pursue education, academic excellence, and creative expression grounded in faith, character, and purpose. Long before it was culturally celebrated, he affirmed the importance of women engaging deeply in scholarship and writing, believing these callings to be gifts from God to be faithfully stewarded. His legacy of encouragement, conviction, and Christian values continues to shape the heart and direction of CMF Publishing.

CMF Publishing was also born from a clear need: to provide a publishing home for works shaped by a Christian worldview and informed by Christian conservative values—works that traditional publishers often did not understand or were unwilling to champion. Marilyn and Cheryl created CMFBooks to publish meaningful fiction, historical works, and educational resources that uphold biblical truth, intellectual integrity, and moral clarity.

Our motto, “Captivating Words, Christ-Centered Purpose,” reflects our mission and calling. CMFBooks is dedicated to giving believers a voice for their most creative, thoughtful, and impactful work.
